The subject is usually oriented towards the viewer which makes it easier for the viewers to see what they are looking at without having to turn around too much themselves.
Full-length portraits - the subject is oriented towards the viewer viewing it from head to toe with all aspects included in their proportions and overall design such as clothing and visual accessories as well as any other features such as facial expressions or gestures that may have been present during the painting process itself (such as wrinkles on someone's face for smiling too much during the pose).
